I have ridden this route many times on my bike and it is one of the more dangerous spots on Skyline especially because the pavement is very uneven in the middle of the northbound lane that is in the middle of a curve and a 3 way intersection! Sort of a triple threat.
I've ridden this section of road hundreds of times. The northbound and southbound lanes of Skyline between Grizzly Peak junction and Pinehurst Canyon junction are heavily traveled by bikes AND cars in BOTH directions. Yet this section of road is treacherous because the pavement is SO BAD. There is a fatal accident and a lawsuit just waiting to happen here.
I agree with the bicylist comments. There have been injuries before on Skyline. This is an easy bulge to address. The City has an additional 7 million to use for potholes this year and the like throughout the City. I recommend it be used quickly here because bicycle use will only increase as Summer approaches.
