No offense Ms. Hansen, but I wish VDOT would just cull this site and incorporate suggestions into their own site and/or database. Makes no sense to suggest things in multiple spots. Nor does it make sense for VDOT to even monitor this site if they're not going to use any information herein.

Not only do we need I-64 widened from Jefferson to Ft. Eustis Blvd, it needs to be widened all the way to Busch Gardens and/or Williamsburg's 199. Tourists don't want to come here and get caught in the traffic every evening, weekend, and summer. Let's get this road widened at a minimum to Ft. Eustis Blvd.

I have actually spoken with VDOT and they are very enthusiastic about this as well as other cities in VA.

A few reasons why SeeClickFix is very different than a municipal website:

1) The information is open, transparent and public
2) Others can receive alerts besides the city
3) This is a better place to reach constituents. Compare web traffic between the placement of this site's widget in VA and the state and city's website.
4) You can use your smart phone to take a photo of an issue with the exact location
5) The service is entirely free to the State and the City

I-64 needs to widened all the way to Richmond. But is takes 10 years and $100 million dollars everytime VDOT widens the interstate from one exit to the next exit. Reaction - the public won't vote for any highway projects because of the crazy costoverruns and time delays.

I love how everyone is saying they want this fixed. It is really funny every time the state tries to find a way to raise money to fix this the citizens of the state say do not raise funds to fix the problem. I would hope that next time the state tries to find money to fix the problem everyone who wants this fixed will support that method of raising money. As noted by VDOT they have the plans but do not have the funding. I mean think about it where are they going to find the millions when they are closing rest stops and spending more money on storm cleanup then they have in the budget. Again maybe all these people will support the State when they try to find funding again for road projects. You all are the same people that want all the pot holes fixed and don't want to pay for that as well.
