Interstate 64 from Ft. Eustis Blvd to Jefferson Avenue needs to be widened to 3 or 4 lanes in each direction at least. Traffic backs up there everyday and it's almost as bad as the HRBT in terms of backup distance/time spent sitting.

Hi Nick,
I have actually spoken with VDOT and they are very enthusiastic about this as well as other cities in VA.
A few reasons why SeeClickFix is very different than a municipal website:
1) The information is open, transparent and public
2) Others can receive alerts besides the city
3) This is a better place to reach constituents. Compare web traffic between the placement of this site's widget in VA and the state and city's website.
4) You can use your smart phone to take a photo of an issue with the exact location
5) The service is entirely free to the State and the City
Thanks,
Ben

I am reopening the issue as it does not appear it was fixed.
VDOT, please do not close SeeClickFix issues if you have not seen them closed or have not repaired them yourself.
Thanks,
Ben

I am closing this post because this is not the proper outlet to request information from a state agency. The tools are already in place to communicate with VDOT. There is also a project page on VDOT's website with information about this proposed project: http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/hamptonroads/widening_i-64_on_the_peninsula.asp
VDOT will not be able to respond to and track inquiries from, or answer questions posted to this blog. To get action and accurate information you need to communicate directly with us. This and other privately maintained sites can give a user the impression that their issues have been expressed and reported to the correct party when they have not.
Again, If you would like to report a roadway problem on a state maintained interstate or county road, please contact VDOT by visiting our website. Copy and paste the website address www.VirginiaDOT.org in your browser. Click the “Travel Center” link and then “Report a Road Problem.” You can also report roadway issues by calling 1-800-367-ROAD (7623).
If you would like to report a roadway issue on a city road, please contact your local city office.
